About The Position

Nimble’s Cloud Logistics software team builds the in-house suite of cloud-native solutions that drive Nimble’s operations and customer integrations. Nimble has developed an all-in-one platform of next-generation solutions, including Warehouse Management System (“WMS”), Transportation Management System (“TMS”), Order Management System (“OMS”), Inventory Management System (“IMS”), and Returns Management System (“RMS”). The entire software stack is native, in-house developed and streamlines customer onboarding through a single integration that eliminates reliance on third-party providers. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our cloud logistics team. You will play a critical role in working with our world-class cross-functional team to help develop and build the world’s most advanced robotic systems for the world’s biggest robotics opportunity!

Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Solid understanding of cloud security practices
  • Experience building full stack cloud applications (both frontend and backend)
  • Experience with REST, SQL, CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes, message brokering, and Docker
  • Experience with SQL query/schema optimization
  • Strong technical documentation skills (architecture diagrams + sequence diagramming)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong self learning and improvement mindset
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends if needed

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain high quality code which is production ready
  • Be available for production support
  • Measure and debug performance bottlenecks for a suite of products
  • Be able to ship a feature end to end: frontend, backend, CI, infrastructure
  • Be a mentor for junior engineers
  • Be able to lead larger initiatives, delegate development tasks to others, and influence high quality technical execution
  • Generate a technical roadmap for improving scalability, performance, observability, testability, etc.
  • Perform code reviews and uphold high bar for best practices
  • Suggest changes to coding standards style guide
  • Be able to challenge product requirements and drive consensus to improved solutions
