As a Staff Software Engineer, Blockchain at Paxos, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing software solutions that support the issuance of digital assets, including stablecoins and other tokenized financial instruments. You will leverage your expertise in distributed systems and modern software development practices to ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of our platform.

  • Define and implement technical strategy for stablecoin infrastructure platforms spanning transfers, stablecoin issuance, rewards and blockchain integrations.
  • Architect core reusable services and APIs that drive reliable, compliant, and efficient asset movement across chains and external providers.
  • Lead cross-team projects to improve performance, observability, security, and developer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with staff engineers, tech leads, product, and operational partners to drive organizational change.
  • Foster a culture of technical leadership, transparency, and high standards within and across teams.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels to elevate system health and engineering best practices.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our blockchain services through best practices in software design, testing, and deployment.
  • Optimize existing blockchain infrastructure to enhance performance, reduce latency, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in blockchain, distributed systems, and financial technology to drive innovation within the team.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making processes.
  • 8+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems in high-growth technology companies
  • Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives from conception to delivery
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, high-performance systems
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native technologies
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across the organization
  • Track record of building automation systems and improving operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve how you work
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
