About the position
Our Acceptance Solution team is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce. We operate the world's most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people. While working with us you'll get to work on complex distributed systems and solve massive scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of our Card Processing, Acceptance Solutions org to help design, enhance and build our transactional platform in an agile development environment. You will play part of multiple teams tasked with multiple projects ranging from building full stack development of real-time transactional services, REST services API, Container based services to highly functional, secure, scalable and resilient real time payment systems. You will see the code written and moved to production within just a few days to a week, to then be used by a huge customer base.
Responsibilities
- Help our customers achieve their real goals by understanding their requirements and how they respond to their business needs.
- Use technologies that include Java, REST, SQL, NoSQL, Docker and more.
- Analyze business requirements and architect a solution that is robust and scalable along with providing technical documentation of solution.
- Leverage new technologies to build the next generation of transactional systems.
- Develop and deliver new features every few days and be responsible for them end-to-end.
- Demonstrate proficiency and ease with programming languages, code quality initiatives, scripting languages and operating systems.
- Develop in commercial software development on Unix/Linux environment.
- Develop in consumer facing application development.
- Development, unit testing, code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration will be part of your DNA.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong experience in building large scale enterprise level backend applications using Java, Spring, REST API, RDBMS, NoSQL, Vertx, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Good analytics & problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in algorithms, data-structures and common design patterns.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery, deploying in containers like Dockers.
- Experience with TDD using JUNIT/functional automation testing and tools.
- Proven experience delivering complex software projects and solutions effectively through Agile methodologies on a regular release cadence.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to think big and challenge the status quo.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Familiarity with generative AI technologies and their practical applications.
