You will be joining the Coinbase Institutional team, where our engineers create and maintain a suite of products catering to institutional customers of all sizes. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Institutional, Settlements and Transfers team, you will be at the core of Coinbase's financial infrastructure, ensuring the seamless and secure movement of funds.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience in building fault-tolerant, highly reliable systems at scale.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Experience applying these skills to Ledgering, Trading, or Payment systems at scale.
• A passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Golang and Ruby.
• Familiarity with on-chain activity, such as interacting with Ethereum addresses and dApps.
• Experience with financial systems, banking, or fintech.
• Knowledge of concepts like T+1 or T+2 settlement cycles, and the roles of clearing houses and settlement agents.
• Experience in a rapidly growing company (from 10 to 100s of engineers).

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop services and frameworks that power Coinbase Prime’s settlement and transfer processes.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance, working closely with management and stakeholders to define and execute on the strategic roadmap.
• Lead individual projects, managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise.
• Mentor and train other engineers on design techniques and coding standards, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code for fault-tolerant and highly reliable systems at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to transform technical vision into a tangible roadmap.
