This role contributes to the development and implementation of innovative imaging and video processing algorithms, including Dolby Vision and related technologies, supporting Dolby’s overall product and technology roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on multimedia technologies, plus over five years of professional experience in imaging, system engineering, and application development.
  • Strong programming experience in C or C++.
  • Experience porting MATLAB code to C/C++.
  • Experience accelerating C/C++ code on CPU processors using multithreading or SIMD instructions.
  • Experience developing applications related to computer graphics, computer vision, image processing, and/or video processing.
  • Linux development experience.
  • Familiarity with Perforce or Git and Jira.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience accelerating C/C++ code on GPU processors using graphics programming languages such as OpenGL, Vulkan, or Direct3D.
  • Proficiency optimizing C/C++ code for GPU processors using compute programming languages such as CUDA or OpenCL.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning algorithms in production environments.
  • Knowledge of image signal processing (ISP) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of camera hardware and software integration.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Knowledge of video technologies, production, and post‑production workflows.
  • Familiarity with HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, evaluate, and optimize Dolby imaging and video algorithms and software on consumer devices such as digital TVs, set‑top box systems, and mobile cameras.
  • Camera pipeline experience, including multi‑camera systems, with familiarity in computational photography and HDR.
  • Implement performance optimizations to accelerate algorithms on GPU and CPU processors.
  • Translate proof‑of‑concepts into high‑quality, high‑performance imaging software deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver robust software solutions.
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal teams and external partners to achieve best‑in-class performance.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced development environment; experience with Agile teamwork is a plus.
  • Partner with SQA to enhance test setups, including hardware, software, and test automation environments.
  • Follow best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing, and release management.
  • Produce and maintain clear, useful documentation.
