About The Position

We’re hiring a Staff Software Engineer, AI. You will drive the development of our agent. You will be working on the reasoning, learning, and integrations of our SRE agent, and also the underlying runtime and technical architecture of the complete product. You'll help keep engineering standards high, define the experience for our customers, and push the agent to solve increasingly more complex SRE challenges.

Requirements

• 6+ years of production software engineering experience with exposure to ML/data science
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and opinions on building robust, scalable, and secure software
• Experience operating high-scale distributed infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Kafka, Spark, microservices
• Experience building complex systems at scale, preferably with Python, Rust, C++, Go, Kotlin, or Scala
• Background in building ML/AI systems and obsession with generative AI
• Methodical thinker with the ability to understand the big picture
• Ability to challenge assumptions and propose pragmatic solutions

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience building autonomous agents
• Familiarity with LLM tool-calling, function-calling, and agentic frameworks
• Previous startup experience

Responsibilities

• Build autonomous agents capable of executing complex, multi-step tasks
• Design and implement agent evaluation frameworks to measure performance and reliability
• Develop self-improving systems that can adapt based on feedback and results
• Expand agent observability to resolve day-to-day issues with tool-calling and agent orchestration
