About The Position

We are seeking intelligent and motivated senior engineers to join PayPal Compliance platform team, which is a core competency within PayPal. You will be building the most cutting-edge platform focusing on auto decisioning and process automations. The platform is heavily AI enabled/big data driven automation. PayPal's Compliance platform focuses on enabling Global Commerce by delivering a comprehensive, industry-leading regulatory technology platform while effectively meeting regulatory commitments in a cost-effective and innovative manner.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience with 1+ years in designing and building AI solutions.
• Strong proficiency in software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
• Experience with Big Data technologies, such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Spark, Kafka, graph DBs, etc.
• Experience with generative AI technologies, such as LLMs, RAG, ReAct, agents, etc.
• Ability and willingness to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Passion for innovation and delivering high quality solutions and compelling experiences with new technology.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions that improve efficiency and automation in Compliance processes through leveraging generative AI technologies.
• Lead the design and development of platforms that will enable us to bring high quality, mature solutions to market quickly.
• Develop and deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Create platforms to enable the business to leverage generative AI in key processes.
• Participate in design discussions with product and architecture.
• Contribute clean code and documentation that adhere to critical non-functional engineering requirements (Availability, Security, Performance, Scalability, Self-Serviceability, and Observability).
• Communicate effectively with all technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders.
• Work closely with partners in China time zone every day.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry standards, tools, and technologies related to development and generative AI (RAG, agents, reasoning, etc.)
