About The Position

Zscaler is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Cloud Platform and Architecture organization. You will develop tools and automate solutions to manage the large-scale distributed infrastructure of the Zscaler cloud platform. This is a hybrid role going into our San Jose, CA office 3 days a week. Reporting to the Director, Site Reliability Engineering, you will manage and maintain large-scale distributed systems using an infrastructure-as-code approach, develop and enhance tools to automate the deployment and management of large-scale services, focusing on reliable system architecture and maintaining high code quality. You will also diagnose and resolve issues by editing code, adjusting infrastructure configurations, conducting performance and network analysis, and creating reusable tools. Additionally, you will develop automation solutions and manage services efficiently using version-controlled infrastructure-as-code, support mission-critical services, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in SRE roles supporting mission-critical production systems
  • Skilled in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Rust
  • Familiarity with standard Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC)
  • Expertise in SRE methodologies, tools, and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency in managing large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and applying infrastructure-as-code principles
