About The Position

DHCS is seeking a strong leader with experience in Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) programs and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives to fill the role of HCBS Compliance and Implementation Branch (HCIB) Chief within the Integrated systems of Care (ISC) Division. Under the general direction of the ISC Division Chief, the Branch Chief will assist in the planning, organizing and leading of policy, administration, operations, compliance, and monitoring activities for HCBS programs and other health care programs for vulnerable populations eligible for Medi-Cal. The HCIB is responsible for overseeing and directing the work of multidisciplinary staff in the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing compliance with the federal Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services Final Rule, the ongoing maintenance, operations and enforcement of the California Electronic Visit Verification and related federal and state requirements pertaining to HCBS Integration. This Branch Chief will serve as liaison with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other state departments and foster collaborative relationships with sister departments, community-based organizations, managed care plans, and legislative stakeholder. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that older adults and people with disabilities receive the necessary services and supports to be able to remain in their homes and communities safely. Requirements

  • Results from the Staff Services Manager III (EX-2415) / Staff Services Manager III - LEAP (EX-2027) examination currently in progress may be utilized for filling these position(s).
  • This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.
  • You will find the Minimum Requirements in the Class Specification.
