About The Position

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II and Program Manager I, this continuously monthly traveling position performs detailed file audits and property/unit inspections for compliance issues affecting all multifamily rental housing projects throughout California that are funded with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) (Internal Revenue Code Section 42) and other related analytical duties. Duties of these positions will include regular overnight travel and physical inspection of properties and housing units throughout the State of California. Travel will be for a minimum of 2 weeks a month, Monday - Friday, February - December. Physical inspection of the properties includes walking around properties, climbing multiple flights of stairs, entering the units of tenants, testing various items, bending, kneeling, and inspecting easily accessible outside areas. The position(s) require(s) a valid California Driver's License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to travel throughout California each month up to 50% of time.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs in a day, walk a property, and conduct physical unit and property inspections.
  • Knowledge, familiarity, or experience with affordable housing or other local, state, or federal housing programs.
  • Good math skills required for complex income calculations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with customer service experience to interact effectively with program users.
  • Good multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail identifying document errors and/or property damage/deficiencies.
  • Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience or skills conducting audits/inspections.
  • Good analytical and research skills with ability to make recommendations.
  • Ability to set priorities, resolve issues, and work well under pressure within specific timelines and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
