The Cloud Security organization consists of multiple teams dedicated to working collaboratively to bridge gaps between security and the broader Datadog business. We are seeking an experienced Staff Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our products are built with the highest security standards, protecting our users and maintaining their trust. As a Staff Engineer, you will lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and work cross-functionally to embed security into every aspect of our infrastructure and operations. Requirements

  • 10+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, network engineering or security engineering experience, including supporting multiple teams and complex org-wide initiatives.
  • Experience building, securing and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant systems in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience building and securing containerized systems (e.g. Kubernetes).
  • Experience in building and securing zero trust networking solutions (e.g. Envoy).
  • Experience in securing Linux operating systems at scale.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively through complex technical problems with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and provide technical leadership.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Stay current on emerging security threats and technologies, proactively identifying areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance the security posture of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the Datadog's multi-cloud infrastructure and supporting components.
  • Provide strategic direction and determine new areas of development for our infrastructure security initiatives.
  • Lead large-scale projects aimed at improving the security of our expansive multi-cloud cloud infrastructure ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, establishing best practices in security and reliability.
