About The Position

The Lyons Lab is seeking a Staff Scientist to contribute to research on the mental health services driving impactful research, shaping public policy, and advancing the systemic transformation of services for children. This role requires advanced expertise in data science, and mental health services, and will be central to the lab’s mission of advancing fundamental understanding of applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in statistics, biostatics, psychology, or a related field.
  • Developing and implementing empirical and computational protocols for research.
  • Background in the analysis of data and large-scale behavioral datasets.
  • Assisting in the training of junior researchers, a strong publication record, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge in computational methods and statistical tools for the analysis of large-scale neural data.
  • Knowledge of research regulatory policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and tests experimental protocols for research.
  • Interprets results and integrates findings with CANS measures, and collaborates closely with scientists and researchers across disciplines.
  • Manages, plans, and evaluates regulatory elements of multiple or complex research projects for a designated department, program, or central unit.
  • Ensures the identification, collection, and analysis of data that serve as a basis for outcome measurement of assigned research studies.
  • Monitors and follows a large caseload of study participants from study screening through end-of-study evaluations, including all necessary source documentation and data collection/entry.
  • Establishes standard operating procedures for continuous review and development of quality improvement plans for our unit.
  • Advances research objectives through participation in professional committees and presentations.
  • Ensures timely reporting of research data, following study specific guidelines.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
