About The Position

The position involves conducting environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, material, and soil. The candidate will identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include preparing applicable permit applications, risk assessments, and technical documents such as proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. The projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos abatement, storm water management, and site planning and permitting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field, or a minimum of 3 years' related experience in lieu of a degree, or a minimum of 7 years' related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Certification in field of expertise required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
  • Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Demonstrate quality practices and acumen.
  • Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
  • Conduct site testing and make recommendations for systems design on smaller projects of minimal complexity.
  • Assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments.
  • Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff.
  • Develop written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals.
  • Evaluate moderately complex laboratory and field data and assemble in written reports.
  • Participate in meetings and communications with clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
  • Oversee work performed by lower level scientists/engineers and Technicians.
  • Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
