The Cell Therapy Subject Matter Expert Field Applications Scientist (FAS) at Thermo Fisher Scientific will serve as the primary technical liaison between the internal team and external customers. This role focuses on providing technical consulting and troubleshooting to help customers identify optimal cell therapy solutions. The FAS will collaborate with the R&D team to support innovative cell therapy workflows and engage with cross-functional teams to address customer needs, ultimately contributing to the development of life-saving biologic therapeutics.

  • Establish and maintain a deep technical relationship with Cell Therapy Customer Engagement and Process R&D Teams.
  • Develop and optimize novel cell therapy manufacturing processes using innovative technologies in collaboration with the R&D team.
  • Organize and lead technical product specification, application, and protocol optimization discussions with customers and prospects.
  • Lead customer technical support during product evaluations, analyze data, and convey the voice of the customer to internal teams.
  • Ensure resolution of customer inquiries through collaboration with multifunctional teams.
  • Act as an internal expert to recommend technical application and process development studies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering); Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Experience in Academia, Biotech, Biologics, Life Sciences, and/or Biopharmaceutical industries in a technical capacity.
  • Significant experience with cell culture, preferably immune cells and/or cell therapy applications; experience in cell therapy bioprocess strongly preferred.
  • Experience with analytical cell biology techniques.
  • Knowledge of bioprocess workflow for cell therapy and relevant process optimization and challenges.
  • Customer interfacing skills and an ability to proactively drive problem-solving processes.
  • Ability to communicate technical content at customer meetings, application notes, publications, and/or posters.
