Job Summary: Quality Care The Medical-surgical nurse systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Performance Appraisal Medical-surgical nurses evaluate their own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, statutes, and regulations. Education Medical-surgical nurses acquire and maintain current knowledge in nursing practice. Medical-surgical nurses pursue knowledge to enhance nursing expertise and advance the profession. Collegiality Medical-surgical nurses interact with, and contribute to, the professional development of peers and other health care providers as colleagues. Ethics Medical-surgical nurses deliver care in a nonjudgmental, nondiscriminatory, sensitive, and culturally competent manner. Requirements

Education -- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
Some areas may require a current and valid driver’s license.
Experience -- Graduate of RN Program
