About The Position

A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the BEH Surgery Pre-op Holding area and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
• Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations.
• Knowledge of current trends and new developments in nursing.
• One (1) year's experience in critical care.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) - Three (3) years experience in critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and/or indirect care to patients in the BEH Surgery Pre-op Holding area and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
• Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret information to identify each patient's requirements.
• Provide care as described in the surgical department policies and procedures.
