About The Position

The Staff RN – Ambulatory Clinics (Orthopedic Oncology) is a vital member of a close-knit, high-functioning interprofessional team dedicated to providing patient- and family-centered care across all ages. This role offers a unique opportunity to step away from inpatient or bedside nursing while continuing to make a meaningful impact in the care of oncology patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. The RN works primarily alongside one designated provider, building strong working relationships and continuity of care, while also supporting other providers during vacations or time off. This position blends direct clinical care on provider clinic days with care coordination and patient support activities on non-clinic days, allowing for variety, autonomy, and long-term patient engagement. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Clinics systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice to guide clinical decision-making and supports patients as they navigate complex surgical and oncology-related care. Major accountabilities include care coordination, patient education, telephone triage and eVisits, medication refills, referral support, and performing or assisting with in-clinic minor procedures. On non-clinic days, the RN serves as a key patient resource by assisting with scheduling appointments and surgeries, answering questions, and ensuring timely communication between patients, providers, and care teams. The RN participates in quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for ongoing professional development. Other duties as assigned.
