About The Position

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, assesses patient needs, develops and implements care plans, and supervises other healthcare staff. They administer medications, monitor patient health, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. RNs also document patient care, adhere to nursing regulations, and ensure patient safety. Samaritan Health is a comprehensive not-for-profit health system that began caring for neighbors in 1881. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles
  • Ability to provide quality patient care
  • Ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual
  • Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to and move patients in a safe manner
  • Must be able to function well in stressful situations
  • Good, creative, problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital RN experience is preferred
