About The Position

The Staff RN at the East Infusion Center is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients undergoing infusion therapy, including chemotherapy and other related treatments. This part-time, temporary position requires a registered nurse to demonstrate clinical expertise and support the overall objectives of the medical center.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS certification completed prior to starting in the unit and maintained thereafter.
• One to two years of clinical and IV therapy experience.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology experience.
• National Chemotherapy Administration Certification.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products, and other infusion therapy products to oncology patients in an outpatient setting.
• Assess patient data and interpret information to identify age-specific care needs.
• Support the philosophy and objectives of the nursing department and the medical center through education efforts.
• Participate in competency evaluations through direct observation, skills labs, and peer review processes.
