About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Progressive Care Unit. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on high acuity patients, including post-ICU trauma patients and various surgical cases. The unit is a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit, providing care for both adults and geriatrics. The role involves working 36 hours per week on a day shift schedule, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Active RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a high acuity nursing environment
• Certification in specialty nursing areas
• Previous experience in trauma or surgical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and recovery processes.
• Participate in unit-based councils and shared governance initiatives.
