About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg / Telemetry for a nursing job in Rowlett, Texas. Our Med Surg unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Med Surg leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The Med Surg Patient Population includes Medical Surgical with a predominant census of surgical patients, ranging from but not limited to Orthopedic, Neurologic, and Gastrointestinal. The patient ratios are 1:5 with a total of 32 beds in the department. This is a newly opened unit with all updated equipment and supplies, and it features a diverse and supportive workforce with numerous Daisy Award nominations, level 5 Encore awards, and Employees of the Month. The role involves working closely with ER, OR, and PACU.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Med Surg / Telemetry unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
