Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) ED - Emergency Department for a nursing job in Temple, Texas. This is a great opportunity for Registered Nurses looking to join a high-level professional team in a Level One Emergency Department. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed. Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Everyone's voice matters. This unit provides staff the ability to learn new skills, improve time management, and be a part of a team that is focused on making ED experiences 'Better for Everyone'.

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships and manage discomfort while staying professional.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork and recognize contributions.
  • Graduate of an Accredited RN Program.
  • 1 Year RN experience in Emergency Department required.
  • RN license.
  • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
