About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care for a nursing job in Temple, Texas. This is a 14-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) that provides care for adults with complex cardiac conditions, including multisystem organ failures. Multidisciplinary collaborative teams provide high-acuity complex care to over 4,000 critically ill adults annually. The normal patient ratio is 2:1 with a defining 1:1 criteria. The unit is a Certified Chest Pain Center, Certified Transplant Center for Hearts, Certified VAD Center, Gold Level ECMO Center, and has a Three Star Cardiac Surgery Program. Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited RN Program.
  • RN license.
  • Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.
  • 1 Year of ICU RN experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Adjust care plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
