About The Position

The Staff Quality Analyst is a recognized expert, independent, impactful contributor within the Quality Assurance team, playing a vital role in the development of company products, games, and overall objectives. With a wealth of expertise and unique knowledge, they go beyond their daily responsibilities, taking the lead in developing new software development methods and process improvements. They lead significant projects and initiatives, creatively resolving complex issues and driving product quality objectives. This role actively engages in product development meetings, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve quality goals. Moreover, they provide mentorship and learning opportunities for other analysts, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and methodologies for success. Leveraging their extensive experience, this individual plays a crucial role in advancing quality assurance efforts, ensuring the success of key projects and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a similar role.
  • Experience in writing, executing and monitoring test suites using a variety of technologies.
  • Experience working with a global test team structure preferred.
  • Practical experience with game engines, bug and task tracking systems, content and asset editors, and shared technologies.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically QA processes in agile and waterfall development environments.
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, & SQLServer.
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and act on data sets and complex workflows.
  • Be an expert in multiple software testing methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • White box testing experience.
  • ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL) or equivalent. ISTQB® Certified Tester Expert Level (CTEL) or equivalent.
  • Coding Knowledge: XML / HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C / C++ / C#, SQL.
  • High level of gaming knowledge and/or skill.
  • Passion for Blizzard’s line of products and services

Responsibilities

  • Drive test development, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure activities.
  • Document and maintain detailed records of test activities and make recommendations for test activities that support continuous improvement, up-to-date techniques, and the relevance of testing methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to oversee designated test projects, activities, and features, establishing oneself as a technical expert within these areas.
  • Analyze & monitor the software development processes and methods used to ensure quality. Approach quality from a technical design perspective, utilizing established development toolsets to engineer comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Drive quality across all disciplines and ensure requirements and risks are continually either mitigated or accepted throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Enhance post launch support and deployment stability across both internal and production environments.
  • Propose and influence new measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to validate and report on software quality.
  • Adhere to department Service Level Agreements (SLAs) within project management (e.g., JIRA) and test-related tools (e.g., TestRail)
  • Ensure deployment stability across all environments.
  • Support the development of knowledge and skills in others through training, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
  • Advocate for the user experience through the delivery of qualitative reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
