About The Position

The incumbent will serve in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic as a member of an interdisciplinary team. The psychologist will consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Staff Psychologist GS-11: Conduct screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders with an emphasis on the application of goal-oriented, evidence-based approaches. Administer, score, and review rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement based tools in an effort to assess emotional, functional or psychological conditions as well as establish Veteran-focused, individualized, treatment planning. Administer and/or evaluate results of a full range of psychodiagnostic, intelligence, or personalities assessments and tests. The incumbent will utilize interview data, comprehensive assessments, and observations in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders. Provide psychological prevention services for those at significant risk for psychological problems. Staff Psychologist GS-12: Conduct screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders with an emphasis on the application of goal-oriented, evidence-based approaches. Administer, score, and review rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement based tools in an effort to assess emotional, functional or psychological conditions as well as establish Veteran-focused, individualized, treatment planning. Administer and/or evaluate results of a full range of psychodiagnostic, intelligence, or personalities assessments and tests. Provide services through the use of telemental health technology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with people from varied backgrounds.
