About The Position

The Staff Psychologist at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to students, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and clinical supervision of trainees. This role emphasizes the importance of supporting students' emotional well-being to enhance their academic performance, while also engaging in campus-wide educational outreach and psychoeducation initiatives. The position operates in a hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility in work location.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology degree required.
  • Active Colorado psychologist license or eligibility to obtain one within 3 months of employment.
  • Experience providing mental health services and psychological testing preferred.
  • Experience supervising clinical mental health trainees preferred.
  • Experience working in a College Counseling Center preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish to provide clinical services in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy to UCCS students.
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis interventions for students in need.
  • Supervise Wellness Center Mental Health Services (WCMHS) trainees and provide clinical training.
  • Coordinate educational and neuropsychological testing services for students.
  • Participate in campus-wide psychoeducation and outreach sessions on relevant mental health topics.
  • Assist in developing data collection strategies to track service outcomes and inform decision-making.
  • Respond to psychological crises and emergency calls, contributing to on-call duties as needed.
  • Attend staff and administrative meetings related to the position's responsibilities.
