Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy OR Doctor of Clinical Psychology OR equivalent
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Approval from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care - Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the psychology license, education and experience. Consistently contributes toward the advancement of clinical patient care and improved outcomes.
  • Interview and assess patients to determine presence of condition/disease and to establish preventive behavioral and mental health practices.
  • Determine nature and extent of impairment, prescribe and administer appropriate behavioral or mental health interventions or assessments.
  • Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care.
  • May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment. If a subspecialist, works to establish a local or regional referral base.
  • Clinical Excellence - Participates in and/or leads ongoing educational activities for continued enhancement of clinical expertise.
  • Effective Communication - Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged.
  • Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.
  • Training and Education - Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, community Psychologists and/or staff, when possible.
  • Attends clinical rounds, medical lectures, grand rounds, and other conferences, as assigned.
  • Policy Compliance - Maintains good standing in the department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria.
  • Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing.
  • Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.
