Staff Product Manager, Life Sciences (New Products)

AbridgeSan Francisco, CA
14dHybrid

About The Position

This is a zero-to-one role. You'll be the first PM for our life sciences product line, responsible for defining what we build, who we sell to, and how we commercialize. You'll work directly with Abridge's clinical, ML, and commercial teams. The right person has built in life sciences before. This role will be a hybrid position. Candidates must be willing to work from our New York City Office or San Francisco Office 3 times a week or open to relocation.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent building products for or within life sciences. Pharma, biotech, medical device, or health data and analytics companies.
  • 0-to-1 experience. You’ve shipped new products.
  • Commercial fluency. You've worked closely with sales, partnerships, or BD on early-stage deals
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You're good at running discovery, forming hypotheses, and updating quickly when you're wrong.
  • Strong cross-functional credibility. You can talk to ML scientists about model outputs, to lawyers about data use agreements, and to a pharma VP about their clinical development pipeline.
  • Clear, direct communication. You write and speak well. You can take something complicated and make it simple without losing precision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with real-world evidence, observational data, or clinical data platforms (e.g. Flatiron, Symphony Health, IQVIA).
  • Familiarity with how pharma companies structure and fund digital health partnerships or data licensing deals.
  • Prior work at the intersection of AI/ML and clinical data.
  • Experience with IRB considerations, HIPAA, or de-identification frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Define the life sciences product strategy. Identify the highest-value use cases.
  • Lead discovery with life sciences partners. Understand their workflows, data needs, buying processes, and willingness to pay
  • Drive 0-to-1 product development. Define requirements, partner with ML and engineering to build the product.
  • Navigate data strategy and compliance. Work with legal, clinical, and engineering to understand what data Abridge can use, under what conditions, and how to structure agreements that protect customer trust
  • Be the internal expert on life sciences.
