Role summary: Walmart is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead data-driven product decisions and deliver customer value through strategic product development. About the team: The Data Team within Data Ventures accelerates delivery speed, enhances cross-functional collaboration, and deepens understanding of Walmart’s enterprise data ecosystem by leveraging emerging technologies. The team provides trusted, timely, and actionable insights through early engagement and co-discovery with Application Product teams, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs. Focused on transforming foundational data capabilities, the team drives data parity across platforms, scales advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions, and builds an AI-enabled data management foundation. Their initiatives expand and differentiate data offerings across U.S. and international markets, supporting Walmart’s strategic growth and innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in product strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, relationship building, and effective communication to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with product requirements documentation, logical data models, and exploratory data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Ability to manage product rollouts using Agile methodologies and MVP approaches.
  • Demonstrated capability to align product vision with business strategies and customer needs.
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in product management or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 6 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products,

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product and feature data to identify trends and insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, prioritizing features and managing backlogs to align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct customer research and journey mapping to address needs and optimize product experiences.
  • Drive product development using Agile methodologies, including MVP creation and iterative improvements.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations and enhancements.
  • Facilitate technology design discussions and support user acceptance testing for product releases.
