Position Summary... What you'll do... We are seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead Walmart’s automation integration and site enablement strategy for Automated Pickup and Delivery (APD) centers. This role drives how Walmart’s internal platforms — WMS, WES, and integration layer — connect with automation vendors and store systems to deliver seamless, scalable, and cost-efficient fulfillment. As Walmart expands automated fulfillment across the U.S., this position plays a horizontal product leadership role across all APD workflows — i nbound, decanting, quality, picking, staging, dispatch, and exception handling — ensuring new sites launch on time, operate with resilience, and continuously improve. The ultimate goal: increase store order fulfillment capacity while reducing fulfillment cost , by improving how software, automation, and operations work together as one integrated system. What You'll Do: Lead the APD software integration strategy across internal systems and automation vendors, ensuring scalable, vendor-agnostic deployment of automation at new and existing stores. Drive the product roadmap for Blackbird’s integration and orchestration capabilities to achieve higher capacity, lower cost per order, and consistent on-time performance across all APD sites. Establish end-to-end visibility across inbound, outbound, and exception workflows — ensuring task orchestration between WMS, WES, and WCS drives measurable throughput and labor efficiency. Leverage AI across product development to accelerate documentation, automate process mapping, simulate throughput scenarios, and optimize capacity vs. labor tradeoffs. Use site-level operational data (L1/L2 telemetry, production metrics, and exception logs) to identify friction, reduce rework, and improve automation uptime and stability. Partner with engineering, operations, and vendors to develop configuration tooling and deployment frameworks that minimize customization and shorten new site enablement cycles. Collaborate cross-functionally with upstream (inventory, replenishment) and downstream (order management, customer delivery) teams to ensure system design supports total-network efficiency. Mentor and influence other product managers , setting standards for integration design, cross-system orchestration, and fulfillment performance analytics. Accelerate site expansion and deployment: Next year, we plan to launch new APD sites, setting the foundation to scale nationally in the following years. This role ensures we have the right architecture, tooling, and repeatable deployment model to launch each site faster and more consistently What You'll Bring: Product Leadership Experienced product thinker who can distill complexity into actionable roadmaps and scalable systems. Strong execution mindset—able to drive discovery, delivery, and iteration in fast-moving operational environments. Supply Chain & Automation Focus Deep understanding of grocery fulfillment, labor dynamics, or store operations. Skilled in identifying inefficiencies in physical+digital systems and driving automation to address them. Data-Driven Proficient in analyzing operational metrics to guide prioritization (SQL a plus). Comfortable building KPI dashboards and defining leading indicators for success. AI-First Mindset & Automation Expertise (Baseline Requirement) This team is building AI-native product practices, and we expect all product leaders to embrace and embed AI into their daily work: Automate and accelerate core product work using AI for documentation, PRDs, Jira tickets, and process mapping. Enhance decision-making with AI-powered synthesis of customer data, operational metrics, and tradeoff scenarios. Run experiments and simulations using AI to test fulfillment strategies and system design at scale. Use AI as a collaboration layer, including for onboarding, internal comms, meeting summaries, and team alignment. Drive and model responsible AI usage, collaborating with legal and governance teams as needed, and tracking impact via clear metrics (e. g., time saved, speed to launch, quality of outcomes).
