The Global AI Engineering Team At Okta, we’re building the future of secure, enterprise-grade AI. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our global AI team and lead the design of both applied AI experiences that transform the way employees work and the platform components that make it easier for developers to build with AI. The Staff Product Designer Opportunity As a Staff Product Designer at Okta, you’ll play a leading role in defining how employees and developers experience AI. You’ll design applied AI solutions that bring immediate impact to productivity and decision- making, while also shaping the platform and developer experience that ensures AI can scale securely across the enterprise. Working with a glo bal team spanning the US and India, you’ll influence the future of AI at Okta and set the bar for what great AI experiences should feel like. This is a senior design role for someone who thrives in complexity, can simplify emerging AI technologies into intuitive interfaces, and enjoys collaborating closely with engineers and product leaders across India and the US.

Requirements

8+ years of product design experience, including significant time working on complex enterprise applications or AI/ML-driven products.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates human-centered design solutions for technical or ambiguous problem spaces.
Expertise in interaction design, UX, and prototyping; ability to simplify complex workflows into elegant solutions.
Comfortable collaborating with engineers and product managers on cutting-edge AI use cases.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence design direction across global teams.
Passion for shaping how AI is experienced in secure, enterprise-ready environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience designing for developer platforms or technical tools is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end design of applied AI use cases — from exploration and ideation to prototypes and polished experiences.
Shape the developer experience for our Agentic AI platform, designing components, patterns, and workflows that accelerate AI adoption.
Partner with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define how AI-powered features should look, feel, and function.
Translate complex AI capabilities (LLMs, RAG pipelines, agent frameworks) into clear,human-centered experiences.
Build and evolve design systems and reusable patterns for AI experiences across Okta.
Mentor other designers, sharing best practices for designing with emerging AI technologies.
Work closely with India- and US-based teams as part of one global design and engineering effort.
