About The Position

Newport News Shipbuilding is currently seeking a staff physician to support operations in our onsite clinic. The position will start out as part-time, with the intent to move to full-time later in 2026. May involve coverage on 2nd shift to ensure support for occupational inquiries. The role involves diagnosing and treating work-related illnesses and injuries of employees and conducting fitness-for-duty physical examinations. The physician will manage the company's internal employee-oriented medical activities, including pre-employment physicals, check-ups, treatment of work-connected illnesses, and providing medical and surgical care in industrial accident or disease cases. They may also be responsible for company hospitals at plant locations and pharmacies, and may recommend medical and health policies to avoid injury and disease. This position requires an M.D. degree. Requirements

Must be a Medical Doctor (M.D.)
License to practice medicine in the state in which they will be hired
At least 6 years general practice

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and treats work-related illnesses and injuries of employees
