About The Position
The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Functional Neurosurgeon to join the team at our flagship hospital, Penn State Hershey Medical Center (PSHMC) in Hershey, PA. This is a full-time academic position that offers an academic appointment commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a desire to pursue cutting-edge research, and a passion for education. Fellowship level experience in Functional Neurosurgery is preferred, and an interest in the neurosurgical management of pain is a plus. The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team is essential. The Penn State Department of Neurosurgery consists of seven clinical divisions covering all the major subspecialty areas of neurosurgery and is the only academic neurosurgical practice in South Central PA. The Division of Neuromodulation within the Department includes senior functional and epilepsy neurosurgeons, an advanced practice provider, and a clinical nurse specialist. This position offers opportunities to educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as support for research and innovation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians from the Departments of Neurology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
