About The Position

NuCara Specialty Pharmacy is a dynamic, growing pharmacy serving patients throughout Iowa focusing on specialty disease states (no compounding). NuCara strives to offer the best services possible to keep our patients living healthy and independently. Our specialty team in Pleasant Hill, IA is looking for either a: Full-time Pharmacist (32-40hrs/week) OR Part time Pharmacist (2-3 days/week) with the ability to flex up to full time when needed to cover PTO This position is ideal for a pharmacist looking for a practice setting where they are challenged to meet the specialized needs of individual patients and a desire to practice at the top of their training.

  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
  • Current Iowa Pharmacy license in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy
  • 2+ years of experience managing/working with technicians preferred.
  • AAHIVP credential within 18 months of hire and renewal every 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and correctly verify prescriptions.
  • Participate in the clinical program which includes onboarding, assessments, care plans, interventions, adherence checks, and discharges.
  • Proper documentation of all types of patient notes in both the dispensing and clinical management system.
  • Provide patient counseling and answers to drug related questions.
  • Efficiently retrieve drug information.
  • Collaborate with all members of a patient's health care team such as providers, case managers, and community resources.
  • Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and support personnel involved in a pharmacy setting.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards of practice, and company policies and procedures in providing pharmaceutical care.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement meetings
  • Understand and adhere to all pertinent components of USP 800
  • Adhere to all insurance and program contracts
  • Participate in MTM programs
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Pharmacist-In-Charge.
  • Assist with after hours on call calls as needed
