Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions and pharmacy systems
  • Exemplary interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations
  • Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service

Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies)
  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate
  • Operate and Troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems
  • Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Dispense Controlled Substances and Maintain Regulatory Compliance
  • Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements
  • Provide Clinical Support:
  • Answer clinical questions and provide guidance
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members
  • Document all healthcare team communications
  • Investigate and resolve medication errors
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Maintain required regulatory documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed
  • Physical requirements may include ability to perform warehouse work and lift at least 20 pounds

Benefits

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $161,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
