About The Position

As a part time, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist with Optum at The Brook Hospital - KMI, and The Brook-Dupont Circle, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. At times this position may also work at The Brook Hospital-Dupont location. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy. Schedule: This position does require at least 1 on call (remote) weekend a month and will help cover staff PTO and sick time (on site) About the Facility: The Brook Hospital - KMI is a 98 bed, Joint Commission accredited facility that offers psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adolescents ages 5-17, adults and seniors. Adolescent services include Psychiatric Inpatient, Extended Care Inpatient, Substance Use Treatment & Recovery Rehabilitation (STAR), Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Dual Diagnosis Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Substance Use Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient (IOP). Adult services Psychiatric Inpatient, Substance Use Inpatient, Substance Use Rehabilitation, Transitional Residential Living House for Men (TL House) and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ETC). The Dupont location is all adult admissions About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM. The pharmacy utilizes Omnicell automated cabinets, HCS pharmacy order entry services, CPOE and EMAR. Weekend remote on call at least once a month or as needed. 4 Hours Saturday and 4 Hours Sunday. If you are located in Louisville, KY, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges. Will work at least 1 weekend a month on call for telepharmacy for Louisville, KY locations. Will also work on site on occasion. Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements
