About The Position

Responsible for reviewing, interpreting and clarifying prescription and medication orders to compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities Reviews, interprets, and inputs treatment orders to ensure accuracy of dosage, treatment schedule, route of administration, and safe administration based on laboratory information and evidence based practices. Provides information to staff members and/or patients on medication uses, drug interactions, and potential side effects. Oversees the preparation of treatments, preparation of investigational treatments, prepackaging of medications, and drug returns. Maintains records on patient prescriptions, charges, and inventory. Ensure pharmacy technician duties are performed completely, safely and without risk of harm to patients. Analyzes, compares, and evaluates various courses of action; makes independent decisions. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy
  • Research Pharmacist experience.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate patient needs and prescriber orders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Detail oriented for ensuring the accuracy of filled prescriptions.
  • Knowledge of FDA health regulations, pharmacology and legal compliance requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
  • Integrity and compassion.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with two (2) years of experience; or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
