Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, the Staff Pharmacist plays an essential role in delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy care to our patients and community. This position is responsible for accurately dispensing and verifying medications, providing clinical services, supporting pharmacy operations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy degree program (PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy).
  • Pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold an active Pharmacist license in the state of Washington or obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Must possess or obtain a Washington State Pharmacy Preceptor License within one year of hire.
  • Basic computer and pharmacy system proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret written instructions and pharmacy regulations
  • Strong patient-focused customer service skills
  • Ability to build rapport with patients, providers, and team members

  • Knowledge of professional standards and state/federal pharmacy regulations

Responsibilities

  • Prescription Dispensing: Accurately review, verify, and dispense medications based on prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Medication Preparation: Prepare and dispense pharmaceutical products, ensuring the correct dosage, quantity, and composition of each prescription.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide clear guidance to patients regarding medication use, proper administration, storage, and potential side effects to help ensure safe and effective therapy.
  • Clinical Services: Provide clinical services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, medication therapy management, and disease-state education, depending on the services offered at each location.
  • Medication Storage: Ensure medications are stored properly and safely, including the use of refrigeration and other preservation methods when required.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with ordering and maintaining an adequate supply of medications and pharmaceutical products to support patient needs and pharmacy operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians and support staff while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and compliant records for prescriptions dispensed, ensuring billing and documentation are completed correctly.
  • Professional Communication: Serve as a reliable source of medication information for physicians, staff members, and patients, including updates on new medications, safety warnings, and drug interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations and patient care.
