About The Position

As a Staff Pharmacist at Meijer, you will play a crucial role in your community by ensuring patients receive the necessary medication and care. This position emphasizes patient consultation, education, and immunizations, while also mentoring and guiding Pharmacy Technicians. You will be responsible for maintaining pharmacy operations and fostering a positive environment for both patients and team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• Retail/Community Practice experience.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies and procedures.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the state the unit operates.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Leadership experience in a pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Demonstrate competence and knowledge of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Exhibit effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Demonstrate excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to patients and resolve their needs, ensuring customer service excellence.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, be responsible for pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations.
