As a Staff Pharmacist Retail with Banner Staffing Services, you will be an integral part of providing continuing patient care and have the privilege to focus on our discharging population and Banner employees. Our Retail Staff Pharmacists are responsible for processing prescriptions from beginning to end, communicating with the patient’s care team, and providing more in depth consultations, as needed. Previous retail pharmacy experience is preferred. You will float between Banner Family Pharmacies at BUMCT, BUMCS, and Casa Grande to help cover PTO, sick coverage, and holidays. Shifts could be any day Sunday - Monday. Shifts are typically 8 or 10 hours, anytime between 6AM - 8PM Monday - Friday, and 8AM - 6PM on Saturdays and Sundays. You are required to complete 2 shifts per month, regardless of hours worked. Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides pharmaceutical care in the retail, outpatient setting. Responsible for the accurate dispensing of prescription medication from the pharmacy and maintaining records according to state and federal regulations. Provides counseling, consultation with other practitioners, family members, and caregivers, to help ensure that medication dispensed is ordered, and used as appropriately and effectively as possible. Oversees the activities of the pharmacy technicians, coordinates workflow and verifies all medications prior to being dispensed. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.
