Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Active license / in good standing with all regulatory agencies.
  • TSBP-registered; TSBP recertification at least 60 days prior to expiration date.
  • TSBP-certified immunizer.
  • TSBP Preceptor certification after one year of pharmacy practice.
  • Successful completion of all required training (e.g., H-E-B 40-hour pharmacist orientation under supervision of Dedicated Trainer, federally- and state-mandated training, HIPAA, FWA, Company orientation, and appropriate management courses).

Nice To Haves

  • Expert knowledge / understanding of systems and applications that support production (e.g., RxEVO, RxIMS, PartnerNet, counting technology such as ScriptPro, Kirby Lester, point of sale).
  • Understanding of H-E-B initiatives and operations (e.g., Greet, Ask & Thank, 5-S, CID, Central Fill, Contact Center, Refill Express, compounding, and specialty operations).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Expert problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and organization skills; precision-oriented.
  • Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Works in a retail pharmacy operation, filling approximately 3,500 scripts per week.
  • Works closely with Pharmacy Manager, other Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Care Representatives (PCRs) to ensure the pharmacy provides superior patient care and customer service.
  • Performs functions related to managing and operating a pharmacy in a retail environment.
  • Assists with Partner training and Partner readiness / competency; participates in career planning for direct reports.
  • Implements / maintains workflow and quality control methods.
  • Ensures efficient operation of systems and applications (e.g., RxEVO, RxIMS, PartnerNet, ScriptPro, Kirby Lester, point of sale).
  • Oversees third-party prescription processing, adjudication review, and resolution of third-party issues.
  • Performs drug utilization reviews.
  • Ensures accurate inventory management and compliance with proper processes.
  • Assists in conducting / is responsible for bi-annual inventory of controlled substances and physical pharmacy inventory.
  • Performs 7-point check to approve processed prescriptions; verifies all Technician / PCR work.
  • Ensures the department complies with all state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Provides patient counseling on all new prescription orders as required by Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
  • Ensures privacy / confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA and federal / state privacy rules and regulations.
  • Contacts prescribers regarding script questions or problems; verifies / documents prescriber information in compliance with H-E-B Questionable Prescription SOP.
  • Participates in / supports H-E-B Pharmacy directives and professional services (e.g., MTM and health screenings); serves as certified immunizer.
