About The Position

Position Summary: Pharmacists perform the day to day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing. Perform therapeutic intervention as needed, provide drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintain patient profiles, attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies, drug therapy monitoring, and drug compounding. The Staff Pharmacist I is also responsible for directing technicians and performing inventory control. This Staff Pharmacist I will provide float coverage for all shifts in the assigned pharmacy, and will actively precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns as needed by the supervisor. The position is required to rotate through the pharmacy on-call schedule in area of responsibility. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Requirements

  • One year of experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire
  • Must have current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
  • CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
  • Ability to perform job duties independently and in compliance with requirements of licensure
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient’s medical management plan
