Job Summary Murphy Exploration and Production seeks a technically capable and experienced Petrophysicist for the Houston office to support offshore exploration and development. We are looking for a candidate with a track record of verified petrophysical evaluations of deepwater wells, support of interdisciplinary technical projects as well as planning and execution of formation evaluation programs for deep water projects. The role calls for active participation within integrated teams, requiring seamless interaction with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, operations staff, and drilling and facilities engineers. Collaboration across these disciplines is essential for success, and candidates must excel under pressure, delivering accurate interpretations on tight timelines while maintaining composure. Strong organizational skills are crucial, as the position demands ownership of data management responsibilities, overseeing integrity and accuracy throughout each project. In addition, excellent presentation and communication abilities—both written and verbal—are required for conveying technical information to various stakeholders within the organization. The Staff Petrophysicist will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.
