About The Position

The Staff Pathologist position at Peconic Bay Medical Center is a full-time role for an AP or AP/CP Board Certified Pathologist. This position is designed to support the hospital's growing services, including a newly established cancer center. The role offers opportunities for collaboration with experienced colleagues and customization of diagnostic responsibilities based on individual strengths, while not requiring cytopathology or autopsy services.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
  • Fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty, preferably in GYN pathology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a community hospital setting.
  • Interest in overseeing clinical laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic pathology services in a community hospital setting.
  • Participate in daily subspecialty pathology consensus conferences.
  • Customize pathology signout based on individual diagnostic strengths.
  • Oversee clinical laboratory operations if desired.
