Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy (Master’s or Doctorate preferred)
  • Current Occupational Therapist license in good standing (state-specific)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and team members
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (experience with NetHealth or PointClickCare a plus)
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional excellence

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients within 24 hours (or 1 business day) of physician referral
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide treatment according to physician orders
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state practice acts
  • Participate in care conferences, rehab meetings, and utilization review
  • Train nursing staff and Restorative Aides
  • Educate patients and families on home programs and discharge planning
  • Recommend and facilitate ordering of necessary adaptive equipment
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state regulations and payer requirements
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members
