Staff Occupational Therapist - Occupational Therapy - Full Time - Variable Shifts
About The Position
The Full-Time Staff Occupational Therapist will provide professional Occupational Therapy services specific to patient's age, and diagnosis including evaluation, planning of individual patient care programs, treatments, documentation, educating patient and family, conferring with other interprofessional colleagues and performing related duties as required. Will work in a variety of acute care hospital units, including Polytrauma, Neuro, Ortho, Medical/Surgical, Telemetry and population will include inpatient and outpatients. Work schedule will include day shift, PM shift and some weekend scheduling. Therapists are members of ESC Local 20 union. In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current CA license by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- Current Basic Life Support Provider certificate from the American Heart Association.
- Successful completion of internship in physical disabilities setting.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.
- Experience and use of standard Occupational Therapy splinting and exercise equipment.
- Ability to analyze situations, take appropriate action.
- Ability to express oneself clearly in speaking and in writing.
- Emotional maturity, personal and professional integrity, and interest in growth and learning.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of experience in acute care setting is desired.
- Acute care, neuro, geriatric and Level II trauma patient population in both inpatient and outpatient care.
- Experience in Level 1 or 2 Trauma Hospital preferred.
- Work experience with the following populations desired
- Trauma
- Neonatal ICU
- Neuro (OP, Traumatic brain injury, Post-concussion)
