About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable forpliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and Nursing Division policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patientcentered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • At least five (5) years progressive and relevant clinical and/or Nursing education experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Critical Care/ Emergency Department
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
  • Completion of the Basic Coronary Care Course during orientation period
  • Medication Administration/Moderate Sedation during orientation period
  • Drain and Suture Removalpetency during orientation period.
  • Stroke Education/Apex Modulepletion within 4 months of hire
  • Helipad Safety within first year of hire
  • ACLS within 60 days of hire
  • PALS within 60 days of hire
