About The Position

Join the UPMC Somerset Team! Are you ready to make a difference in the Cardiac Cath Lab? UPMC Somerset is on the lookout for a Full-time Staff Nurse to join our dedicated team! This role does require on-call coverage.

Requirements

• 1 year interventional Cath Lab, Emergency, or ICU nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Patient Care: Oversee care for groups of patients and their families, using your expert judgment and teamwork skills.
• Lead and Collaborate: Take on leadership roles, work closely with doctors and healthcare providers, and build strong relationships with patients and their families.
• Commit to Excellence: Show your dedication to the community and the nursing profession, striving for the best outcomes every day.
• Actively participates in clinical development and RN residency programs for new hires, seeking opportunities to learn from experienced nurses.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides basic education to support care.
• Demonstrates basic research knowledge and its impact on practice by asking questions and participating in unit-based journal clubs.
• Uses basic nursing knowledge and skills within Relationship-Based Care to meet patient and family needs.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and quality patient care.
• Recommends improvements in clinical care and workplace health, and participates in change initiatives.
