About The Position

The Staff Nurse position in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit at UT Medical Center involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiothoracic surgery and heart failure patients. The unit, known as 7 Heart, is a 31-bed, state-of-the-art facility that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality patient care. The role includes participating in unit councils, obtaining specialty certifications, and engaging in ongoing education and professional development. The nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures.

Requirements

• ASN or BSN degree.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Tennessee.
• BLS certification completed during orientation.
• ACLS certification to be completed within 6 months to 1 year.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery nursing.
• Specialty certifications in cardiovascular or medical-surgical nursing.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Delegate, coordinate, and manage all aspects of nursing care and services provided to the patient and family.
