Your Impactful Role Collaborates with Case Management and Total Joint Navigator to prepare Total Joint Replacement and Complex Spine patients for surgery. Obtains and reviews SIS Exchange portals submitted by patients. Performs patient phone calls to provide appropriate pre-operative instructions. Documents information in patient chart as appropriate. Perform preoperative patient phone calls to conduct pre-admission assessments and provides appropriate pre-operative instructions. (if SIS Exchange is not obtainable) Documents information in patient chart as appropriate. Obtains pertinent patient records prior to patient’s arrival for preoperative testing. Is knowledgeable of patient admission criteria. Compiles patient chart to ensure that all required documentation is immediately available (consents, orders, H/P, diagnostic studies, etc.). Reports test abnormalities in pre-op assessment, diagnostic studies, and any other pertinent information to surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room staff, and other pre-operative area staff as necessary. Understands and performs proper technique of equipment in assigned work area. Adheres to ASC procedures, policies, and standards. Maintains area of Special Assignments. Responsible for training new employees. Other duties as assigned.
